“As a second generation Hmong American, I’ve often struggled with how I’ve wanted to contribute to my Asian community. I sometimes feel far removed from my heritage and see it in the younger generation as well. I’ve always noticed, even amongst other Asians, that many people don’t know of The Hmong people’s sacrifice for Americans during The Vietnam war. In fact many don’t know about Hmong people at all. Starting a clothing line is something that’s always been in the back of my head as I enjoy fashion, but I never wanted it to come from a fraudulent or uninspired place. With Secret Apparel, I want to not only bring high quality clothing, but pair it with exciting branding that brings awareness to a people that for far too long have been disenfranchised.” - Richy Mike
